    What is the registration process?

    Online Registration 


    Create an account on the IIE website, log in, and check the announcements. 


     An additional announcement will be posted regarding registration and tuition information. 

  2. Q

    What is the selection and assignment process to become a Korean Helper?

    1. To become a Korean Helper, you must first fill out the application form. 

    (Please read the Korean Helper application announcements for more information about the application process.) 


    2. 1st round nominees will be selected after screening the application forms. 

    As for the 1st round of applications, if the applicant expresses passion and a hardworking spirit, or has related experience listed on the form, he or she will pass the screening. 


    3. A mandatory “Helper Orientation” will be provided for those who pass the 1st round. You must participate in 

    the orientation to submit another form before your name can be included on the “matching list.”


    4. As Korean students must submit a Korean Helper Application Form, foreign students who want to be matched with a 

    Korean Helper must also submit an application form. 

    The department will screen the applications submitted by Korean and foreign students to review, select, and match the students who have the most in common. 



    5. Note – When filling out the application form, please indicate your personal/professional experiences related to the work of a Korean 

    Helper as well as what you hope to achieve by participating in the program.

    Does IIE provide health insurance?

    Currently, IIE does not provide health insurance to our Korean language course students. 


    The students need to purchase the insurance themselves. 

  4. Q

    I want to change my course. What should I do?

    Please bring your registration confirmation to the education department within 1 week after the start of the course. We will change the course for you. 


    If you want to change the level of the course, you need to submit a Level Change Form approved by your instructor. 

    (If the class you wish to move to has reached the maximum number of students, you cannot change.)

    What benefits do Korean Helpers receive?

    1. You can get a Volunteer Service Certificate issued in either Korean or English. 

    (Please use the kiosk located on the 1st floor of IIE (Seoul Campus). Select “Korean” And enter your personal information.)


    2. You can receive Social Service credits. 

    (If you have over 10 hours of activities logged, you can have your credits applied in the following semester. You can 

    earn as much as 1 credit per semester and 3 credits total by graduation.) 


    3. Another benefit of participating in the Korean Helpers program is that you can foster a global mindset while learning how to network.

    Where can I find information about international exchange students or exchange student visas?

    We receive a significant number of calls about international exchange student programs and exchange student visas.  


    However, IIE does not handle these matters. 


    Please go to the International Exchange Office on the 2nd floor of the main building to find more information.

    Where can I purchase textbooks?

    The IIE Administration Office does not sell textbooks. Please visit the bookstore 

    located on floor B1 of the Chungwoon Gwan building (Lecture Hall) or any major bookstore outside campus.

    Who is eligible to apply to be a Korean Helper?

    Anyone enrolled at Kyung Hee University or Kyung Hee Cyber University can apply to be a Korean Helper, and if your personal circumstances allow, you can even participate in Korean Helper activities during breaks. 

    (Unfortunately, alumni and students from other universities are not eligible.)


    If you are someone who cares about others and has a passion for volunteering, you may apply for the program.

    (Korean language ability is required to volunteer as a Korean Helper, but foreign language skills are not required.)

    What events does Kyung Hee University have for foreign students?

    IIE offers field trips and culture classes every semester. 


    We also offer a wide range of events during the semester, including the World Korean Language Speech Contest for Foreigners in the Spring, a social media video contest in the Summer, a photo contest in the Fall, and the Foreigners Fair in the Winter.

    Where can I check the classroom and the assigned instructor? 

    Once the classroom and instructors are assigned following the placement test, that information will be posted on the website 

    on the Friday before the start of the class. 


     That information will also be displayed on the bulletin board in the IIE lobby.

    Is a placement test required?

    The placement test will help verify which level is appropriate for you, and it is meant to make the courses as effective as possible.  

    If you are registering for a second consecutive class, please follow the advice from your instructor. 

    Please contact the administration office if you have not taken a placement test.

  12. Q

    Where and when will the interview results be announced? 

    We will inform regarding the result of level testing on Thursday. We will contact individually within that day.

  13. Q

    How is the placement test conducted?

    You will have a 1-on-1 or 1-on-2 interview with a native speaking professor, including simple questions and conversation.

    When is the placement test?

    The placement test will take place one week before the start of the session. Please visit the website for details when the time comes.
